Our team is here to support you from your initial consultation through to the final installation, with all our structures built from premium Stratco materials to ensure the highest quality and durability. Where do we cover?
We are based in the north-west of metropolitan Melbourne. While most of our clients reside in this region, we are always happy to talk to clients from further afield. Even if we are unable to attend, we would love to share our knowledge with you and possibly point you in the right direction.
Will I be dealing with the same person from start to finish?
Yes, you can be confident that Shane Spiteri will take care of you every step along the way. If you have any queries, you can call him direct for a quick answer.
How long does installation take?
Perfection makes all the difference in this final stage. Once permits have been finalised, we order your materials ready to proceed. Once we receive confirmation that Stratco have the materials for us, we will book in an installation date, usually set 2 to 4 weeks away. The materials are delivered the day before construction begins. Weather permitting, your construction will take between one and five days.
Do you offer any kind of warranty?
Yes, you’ll enjoy genuine peace of mind knowing that your new Innovative Verandahs outdoor living area is backed by a 15-year Stratco Structural warranty.
Will I need a building permit?
You will require a permit if your verandah is attached to the house. If your verandah is free-standing it may be exempt if it is less than 10 square meters and is not more than 3m high. Or 2.4m high if it is 1m away from a boundary. It is always prudent to seek advice from your local council when considering a build. If you choose to work with our team, we will liaise with council on your behalf to ensure that your works are covered by the appropriate permits.
How long does a building permit take?
A building permit is written consent from the Registered Building Surveyor, certifying that the plans have been checked and comply with the building regulations. It also indicates the main stage of the building work of which must be inspected, to ensure compliance with the approved drawings. This includes the carry out of a final inspection. Allow 2 weeks.
Do you offer verandah extensions or upgrades to existing structures?
Depending on the state of your existing structure, we may be able to add to, or build it out. We would need to visit the site and judge based on each existing verandah.
Can you install electrical outlets, lights and fans?
Yes, the Stratco Cooldek has the appearance of a sleek ceiling, internally we can include wiring for a fan system and lights throughout.
How can I get support if I have an issue with my new verandah?
In the unlikely event that you run into an issue with your new verandah, simply getting in touch with our team to rectify the problem will be the best option. We know the product like the inside of our hands so we will be able to find the solution quickly.
How can I keep my verandah looking new over time?
To keep your verandah looking fresh and new over time, regular maintenance is key. We recommend cleaning the structure every few months using a mild soap and water solution to remove any dirt, pollen, or buildup. Avoid harsh chemicals, as they can damage the finish. If your verandah features Stratco’s Cooldek roofing, it’s designed for easy cleaning and durability, so a gentle wash is usually all it needs. For any metal components, inspect for signs of rust or wear, especially after severe weather, and touch up any small areas with appropriate paint.
